Chapter 3: Character Creation

Step 2: Base Attributes
Example (p. 18)

The example now lists Peny's Luck base Attribute for clarity.

This update corrects and clarifies some text in the rulebook. The changes appear in recent printings of the book. These changes can also be found via downloadable PDF.

Character Advancement
Story Arc (p. 22)
  • In Level 8 of the Heroic Tale Level Path, "Add three Base Attribute Points" is now "Heroic Tale Embodiment".

  • In Level 9 of the Tragic Tale Level Path, "Heroic Tale Embodiment" is now "Choose an Ability".

  • In Level 9 of the Heroic Tale Level Path, "Heroic Tale Embodiment" is now "Choose an Ability".

Chapter 4: Challenges

Base Attribute Challenge (p. 25)

In the first paragraph, "A Base Attribute describes (...)" is now "A Base Attribute Challenge describes (...)."

Chapter 6: Combat

How to: Action (p. 34)

In the text box, "9. Resolve all announced Reactive Actions." is now "9. Resolve all announced Reactive Reactions."

Status Effects (p. 37)

Downed's "advantage (+1)" is now "Advantage (-1)"

Chapter 7: Character Options

Reactions
Reactive (p. 42)

"Riposte" Reactive Reaction was added. Its Trigger is "Attack Challenge against you with no Successes by a target." Its Action is "Perform an Attack Challenge against the target."

Supportive (p. 43)
  • The Supportive Reaction "Covered Sprint" was renamed to "Covering Fire".

  • "Covered Sprint" Supportive Reaction was added. Its Trigger is "Any Movement Action by a target within your weapon's reach." Its Action is "Perform an Attack Challenge with Disadvantage (+5). The target may move additional Steps equal to the Successes and gains Poise equal to the same amount."

Incantations
Intelligence (p. 45)

In all Incantations "Trigger:" is now "Type:".

The Brace Incantation had its type changed from "Base Attribute Challenge by a target" to "Preventive Reaction (Base Attribute Challenge by a target)"

Intelligence (p. 47)

The Transmute Bone Incantation had its type changed from "Reactive Reaction (Target starts suffering)" to "Action."

Feel (p. 48)

The Rebuke Incantation had its type changed from "Preventive Reaction (Any Movement by a target within arm's reach of you)" to "Preventive Reaction (Any Movement by a target ending within arm's reach of you)."

Abilities
General (p. 52)

The Lunger Ability had "(i.e. as if you had moved at least once within the current Round)" added.

Body (p. 52)

The Strong Skin Ability was "Your Hit Points increase by 20" and is now "Your maximum Hit Points increase by 20."

Speed (p. 54)

The Nimble Footing Ability had "This counts as a Movement Action." added.

Speed (p. 56)

The Deceptive Traitor Ability read "(...), you may take a Reactive Reaction that does not allow Preventive Reactions." and is now "(...), you may take an Attack Action as a Reactive Reaction that does not allow Preventive Reactions.".

Signature Moves
Buff (p. 57)
  • Hauntings from the Past read "Any allies within 3 Steps of gain (...)" and is now "Until the Scene ends, each ally within 3 Steps of you gain (...)."

  • Sacrifice Oneself had a formating eerror and is now seperated from Run with the Punches.

Special (p. 57)

Call of the Marrow has "It takes its turn immediately after yours." added.

Chapter 10: Bestiary

The Other (p. 85)

Raider's Reaction "Mount" was changed from being a Reactive Reaction to be a Preventive Reaction.

Black Knight (p. 89)

The Black Knight's Foil Incantation in Phase 2, was changed from being a Supportive Reaction to be a Preventive Reaction.

Caravan (p. 93)

The Scout Minion's Backstep Reaction was changed from moving 2 Steps, to moving 4 Steps.

Dream Spider (p. 95)

The Dream Spider's Prescient Poison was changed from "(...) may roll any Challenge with advantage (-6)." to "(...) may roll one Challenge with advantage (-6)."

  • A description of Charge was added.

  • Downed had its Advantage notation fixed (from + to -).
